At least one of the following must apply: contractual or legal duty, legitimate interest, public interest, vital individual interest or consent.
In this section we explain which one we rely on to use your data in a certain way.
We need to use your data for a contract we have with you, or to enter into a contract with you.

    Tell you about products and services through various channels, like social media companies, based on how you use our products and services and other information we hold about you. We do this so we can make sure our marketing is useful. That includes instructing platforms to show or not show MondoPal adverts to existing customers;

    Communicate with you;
    Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
    When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the "Device Information" that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud.
In particular, your IP address, and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We’ll ask for your consent to:
Tell you about our products and services, and those of our partners by email or push notification if we think they’re of interest to you. You can unsubscribe from these by email.
Share information about you with companies we work with when we need your permission (see "Who we share your data with" below).

If we ask you to provide us with your personal information for any other reason, for marketing purposes for example, we will ask you directly for your express consent, or we will give you the opportunity to refuse.
If after giving us your consent, you change your mind and no longer consent to us being able to contact you, collect your information or disclose it, you can notify us by email at [email protected]

Who we share your data with

We may share your personal information with our partners in order to provide you with certain services you have asked us for. Here we mean companies that help us provide services you use, and need to process details about you for this reason. We share as little information as we can and encrypt and/or make it impossible for you to be identified by the recipient where possible (for instance by using a User ID rather than your name).

Companies that provide services on our behalf

We normally share your personal information with:
    Suppliers who provide us with IT, payment and delivery services - To help us provide our services to you;
    Our partners - To help us provide our services to you;

    Cloud computing power and storage providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud;
    Companies that help us with functional analytics - To help us solve technical issues for instance;
    Companies that help us with marketing (but we won’t share identifiable personal data with third parties for their own direct marketing unless you give us permission, and you can opt out any time);
    Software companies that we use for emailing you;
    Companies that offer benefits or rewards through special programmes you sign up to;

Here's an example of when we might share your information with our partners

From time to time we may work with other partners to offer you co-branded services or promotional offers, and we will share some of your personal information with those partners. We will always get your consent before sharing your information for these purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Our partners will have their own privacy notice explaining how they use your personal information. It's important that you read those privacy notices as well.

Here's an example of when we might share your personal information for advertising purposes

We may share your information (your name, email address) with our advertising partners in the ways described below, but the information is hashed before we send it, and the social-media platform we share it with is only allowed to use that hashed information in the ways described below.
When we use social media for marketing purposes, your information may be shared with the social-media platforms so that they can check if you also hold an account with them. If you do, we may ask the advertising partner or social-media provider to:
    Use your information to send our adverts to you, because we think that you might be interested in a new product or service;
    Not send you our adverts, because the marketing relates to a service that you already use; or
    Send our adverts to people who have a similar profile to you (for example, if one of our services is particularly useful to people with similar interests to the ones on your social-media profile, we may ask our advertising partner or social-media partner to send our adverts for that service to those people).

Behavioural advertising

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.
You can opt out of targeted advertising by following the links below:
We may also share your details with people or companies if there’s a corporate restructure, merger, acquisition or takeover.

How long we keep your information

We keep most of your data for as long as you’re using MondoPal. We may keep data longer if we need to (that’s in our legitimate interest) and/or the law says we have to.
To work out how long we keep different categories of data, we consider why we hold it, how sensitive it is, how long the law says we need to keep it for, and what the risks are.
When you place an order through the online store, we will maintain your "Order Information" for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Your rights

You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you, or to get a copy of it.
Ask for a copy of your personal data in a portable (machine-readable) format or make us send it to someone else.
Make us correct inaccurate data.
Ask us to delete, block or suppress your data, though for legal reasons we might not always be able to do it.
Say no to us using your data for direct marketing and in certain other "legitimate interest" circumstances.
Withdraw any consent you’ve given us.
To do any of these things, please contact us by emailing [email protected] EU data protection laws, like the GDPR, give us one month to respond. For security reasons, we can't deal with your request if we are not sure of your identity, so we may ask you for proof of your ID.

Where we store or send your data

We may transfer and store the data we collect from you to organisations outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). When we do this, we make sure that your data is protected and that:
    The European Commission says the country or organisation has adequate data protection, or
    We’ve agreed to standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission with the organisation.

How we protect your personal information

To protect your personal data, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to ensure that it is not lost, misappropriated, accessed, disclosed, altered or inappropriately destroyed. We store your information on our secure servers.
If you use a password for our website, you will need to keep this password confidential. Please do not share it with anyone.
If you provide us with your credit card information, it will be encrypted using the SSL security protocol and stored with AES-256 encryption, not on our servers, but the ones of our payment services providers like Stripe. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional standards generally accepted by the industry.
